About

Carolina Lechuga (she/her/ella) is a doctoral student with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Miya Barnett. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Cognitive Science from UCLA in 2022. After graduation, she served as a Project Coordinator for an NIMH-funded R01 study at UCLA. Carolina's research interests span an intersection of implementation science and health equity work. She hopes to utilize community-based work to: 1) improve access to evidence-based interventions for marginalized youth and families, 2) investigate contextual factors that influence underserved youth and family engagement in mental health services, and 3) study strengths-based culturally informed preventive interventions to reduce health disparities among minority youth. Clinically, she is interested in bilingual assessment and intervention work.
